In 2023, whilst working in the snow safety team at Cardrona Alpine Resort in Central Otago, New Zealand, Izzy took part in training exercises with local SARDA rescue dogs and their handlers. Some days, this would involve Izzy crawling into a snow cave, where she would wait for the rescue dog to find her. Izzy loved working with the dogs and learning from their handlers, and was inspired and awed by the volunteer work done by the SARDA team.
